This 30-day challenge was kind of hard, to be honest. I would be on and off with biting my nails. I know how some of you guys say it's not hard, I know it's not hard, its impossible. I don't know how some of you guys do not bite your nails. I probably should've put pepper on my nails so I don't have to bite them or something. Now that I think about it I should've done that in the first place, now I'm sad and mad. Plus sometimes I hear that if you have long nails, the dirt or dust (whatever) will get underneath it and it's gonna be hard to take those particles out which I don't want to do.
Overall my challenge was alright, I may have had a few ups and downs but in the in my nails grew a little bit, but I do wish I could grow. I want to at least be 5'2 or 5'3 bummer. I had a good weekend also when I slept for half the day, fell off the swing, and had a crawfish bite me, it was awesome. ( my cousin kissed a crawfish too, wish I took a picture tho) It's been at least 15 days, I think since the 30-day challenge had started and I think I am holding up pretty well. I feel like I should have done a more complicated challenge such as, stop procrastinating or study more. I do confess that a bit my nails a teeny bit, but that's all. The reason I chose this goal was because I wanted to see what it feels like to have long nails. To me having long nails would be annoying and plus when I'm nervous I would bite my nails, so they never grow, which is a bummer. Hopefully, one day (this challenge) will help me break out of this annoying habit. To the other people that are doing more challenging things, good luck to you guys. So that's pretty much it on what's been happening for the past few days on this challenge. I can't believe we have to go back to school though, sad. And now we have like 8 projects to do and we have Staar and finals, hope I survive and I think I got sick on Friday so watch out for my germs or they are gonna get you.
So here's an update on what has been going on for my 30-day challenge. So far it's going pretty well, I haven't bit my nails even though I have a really big urge to do it. I'm one of those people that always needs something to chew on, and I'm getting tired of chewing watermelon flavored gum. Well, i do admit that I have tempted to bite them just a little tiny bit, but not a lot. Especially during spring break, i have been doing nothing for the past few days and I'm just sitting here doing nothing but eating and watching movies nonstop (but I recommend gifted it's such a good movie to me). I know I'm pretty late on the blog but I forgot all about. I remembered when I was going to bite my nails and well in 2 days late. To sum it all up in doing pretty well I have to say, and if any of you guys have any movie recommendations or anime or places to go inform me, please. (I'm so bored here doing nothing at all but sleep and eat and watch. Bye Bye!) So we are starting a thing called a 30-day challenge, which basically means to do something you want to improve or breaking away from a habit for 30 days. Many of my friends are doing a diet or a work out (not saying any names so don't kill me) but for me, I'm going to try to stop biting my nails. The reason I chose this goal was because I always would bite them and they are ugly, so I decided to stop. I really don't need to really work out because, pfftt do u see my arms they are so toned and beautiful. ( just kidding my muscles are under my arms, aka flabs lol).
Some other things I was deciding to do my 30-day challenge was to stay on a diet because I know you guys say I'm skinny but feel like I'm going to grow a food baby. I also wanted to sleep at least 9 hours every night because usually I would stay up doing procrastinated homework, watching some kind of funny videos, listen to music, or do all 3. Update: so it has been like 4 or 5 days of this challenge, and I have to admit that on the first day I totally forgot about the challenge and started to bite my nails, luckily I caught myself biting them. It's really hard to stop because I am that person that always needs to chew something, that's why I bought a pack of gum for myself. (i see you guys trying to ask for a piece but like I said, for myself ) Overall I'm doing pretty well, aside from the first day. But that's all I have for today, until next time. If I had the chance to change myself, there would be many things I would want to change. One thing I would change about myself is my height. I want to change my height because I'm so short and I want to see what it feels like to be tall, looking down on everyone or seeing eye to eye. I would also like to be better in writing because that is my weakest part and I would like to improve it. Another thing I want to change is having the ability to solve any Rubik's cube super fast because I could never solve not even one layer and I see others solve 10x10's and weird triangular shaped things. Those are just some of the things I want to change about myself, I have much more but I'm thankful for what I have and who I am. In my opinion, I think that the separation of boys and girls in schools wouldn't help improve their education because everyone has a different point of view, so it would be okay if they shared different perspectives with everyone else. I also think that, since schools stopped gender separations in schools in the 19th century, there must have been a reason for them to stop that separation and now we are just repeating it. So why would they still continue it?
The article states that “Critics say that there is little evidence of substantial differences in brain development between boys and girls and that dividing children by gender can reinforce entrenched stereotypes.” So even with observation, the evidence is little that the students have not changed their performance in school. So if there was no improvement in education for both genders, then there shouldn't be a reason by they should separate girls and boys. There's also no reason to continue doing it. I also don't think that girls should be taught or expected to like dolls or pretty things. The same thing goes for boys, they shouldn't be expected to be sporty, liking video games and cars or being overconfident of themselves. They shouldn't follow those stereotypes, and it's fine to be who they want to be. In conclusion, boys and girls are all human and should be all taught the same way, it's okay if they each have a different perspective because it helps everyone else to see other ways something can be observed. Because in the future, if boys and girls were really separated in school then when they grow up they might not feel comfortable with cooperating with the opposite gender of them and that won't be good. There were a lot of things that happened in 2017, such as movies, songs, but not all of the events in 2017 were good and happy. (by the way, these aren't really in order from what I liked most and what I liked least)
1. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ~ this is a fantasy/action movie that I loved because it was really funny and I love watching the actors Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson, they are really funny. 2. Hurricane Harvey ~ Hurricane Harvey was one of the most devastating things that happened to us. It really destroyed a lot of things, except our hope. Many people helped Harvey victims try to get back on their feet, and that showed me that many people still have a kind heart. 3. Wonder ~ Wonder is another movie I also liked because it was really heartwarming to me. And it did give me a lot of feeling, but not enough to make me cry. (maybe only a little bit) 4. Snow! ~ Snow was a top 10 thing if you were in Houston because after so many years it had finally snowed about 3 inches. It was really cold, but I was happy to experience playing with snow. 5. Solar Eclipse ~ The solar eclipse was something that happened every 100 years or so. And on August 21st, 2017 we got to experience the solar eclipse, which was pretty cool. 6. IT ~ When I first started watching, I thought it wouldn't be that scary but after I kept watching...it was pretty scary. (don't judge me 7. Slime ~ Out of nowhere slime started to become pretty popular but I don't see the reason why... 8. iPhone X ~ it's really expensive but it looks pretty cool. 9. Fidget spinners ~ I guess fidget spinners got popular but I never really like it to be honest. 10. Shape of you by Ed Sheeran ~ I liked this song because it was pretty catchy. But these are my top 10, don't judge. On Thursday, December 14, the Federal Communications Commission vote to overturn "net neutrality". Net neutrality is an open Internet, in the principle that Internet service providers (ISPs) should give consumers access to all legal content and applications on an equal basis, without favoring some sources or blocking others. While internet service companies say, people that buy won't notice a change, they have also tried to persuade them to eliminate net neutrality, arguing that fewer regulations will allow them to innovate and deliver new services. Yet net neutrality has become a rallying cry for consumers regardless of political affiliation, with many expressing fears that the end of net neutrality will lower free speech, create higher costs for internet users and allow ISPs (internet service providers) to control what services they use on the web. I think that they shouldn't overturn net neutrality because it's not fair if you had to pay for watching shows like ABC or browsing on Amazon. The internet has grown so quickly and works so well exactly because the technology behind the Internet is unbiased. In other words, the physical cables, routers, switches, servers and software that run the Internet treat every byte of data equally. A streaming movie from Netflix shares the same crowded fiber optic cable as the pictures from your niece's birthday. The Internet doesn't pick favorites. That, at its core, is what net neutrality means. And that's one of the most important reasons why you should care about it, to keep the internet as free, open and fair as possible, just as it was designed to be. If net neutrality is repealed, it’s possible that users visiting Twitter will see a pop-up from their service provider saying they need to pay an extra $10 each month to access social media. It’s also possible that service providers will start offering tiered internet packages. If a user can’t afford the most expensive package, the user may not be able to easily stream videos or play games. And I don't like that. (sorry if this is long) Wonder is a book by R.J. Palacio. The book is about a boy named August, who has a facial deformity. He is just a normal boy who has looks that needed to get used to. August has had many surgeries throughout his life so he was homeschooled. He wanted to have a normal life so his parents had enrolled him in school. When he first arrived school many people looked at him like an out caster and many people also teased him, but 2 people, Summer and Jack, stand up to defend him. August's torment still goes on throughout the rest of the school year, but he still kept his head held high with the help of his two new friends. In the end of the year, there was a celebration and August won the award for being 'notable or exemplary in certain areas throughout the school year'. August's mom was proud and says that he's a "wonder".
When I read the book Wonder, it gave me a lot of emotion. I really like the plot of this book about how a kid that is deformed work his way in life. Even though he has a not so good looking on the outside, his personality is amazing, funny, and happy on the inside. This reminds me of real-life situations because many people just judge you on the outside and not on the inside, which really matters. In the end of the book when his mom says that he is "Really a wonder" I think it means that he can wow people and surprise them. To me, Wonder is one of those rare books to find that can relate to so many people and touch their hearts. I also think more people, even adults should read these books because it teaches a good lesson on telling you that only the inside really matters. |
